MANOLI & ASHLEY: TRADITIONAL GREEK ORTHODOX WEDDING IN ANNAPOLIS, MD // MARYLAND WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
We remember meeting Ashley for the first time at The Elite Wedding Expo Maryland in Frederick, and shortly after that, we were sitting down with her and meeting her fiance, Manoli! When we got together with them for coffee, we were asked if we had ever photographed a Greek wedding before! Although, we have had the opportunity to capture dozens of weddings, we had not done a Greek wedding yet, so Ashley and Manoli were great at telling us everything we should expect! From new traditions at the ceremony that we had not experienced before, to traditional dances at their reception, we were entertained all day!
We started at two hotels for their getting ready locations, the Hampton Inn and Springhill Suites by Marriott. After some sweet moments of reading their letters to each other, opening gifts, and a First Look between Ashley and her Dad, we headed to Downtown Annapolis for Ashley and Manoli’s First Look which did not disappoint! Manoli was in awe at the sight of his beautiful bride and it was so amazing to see his reaction! After some portraits of the two of them, it was time to head to the church so they could get married!!
Their ceremony is one we will never forget! The church is absolutely gorgeous inside, the Stefana Wedding Crowns that Ashley picked were so fitting and delicate with beautiful details of olive leaves and pearls, and the Greek Wedding chants were fascinating. Ashley’s attention to detail in every aspect of their wedding day was stunning! We loved all of the touches of olive leaves throughout their day from their invitations, crowns, bouquets, floral arrangements, and cake topper!
This day seemed to be one of the hottest days of the year, but Ashley and Manoli didn’t let that take away from having an amazing time with their friends and family! The night ended with dancing to the beat of the drums that their friends from college brought, and a beautiful night portrait in the church that was magical! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Anagnositadis!
